If I understand correctly, your PS3 harddrive would have to be formatted once I install it, and once again when you re-install it. But you could send me your whole PS3 and I'll data transfer a patch for you

*EDIT*

OK, so I looked for a referral thread for you, found none. semi-low post count, low rep. I'll do it, but only if you go first. I have no need for your PS3, I have 4 of my own, 60 positive referrals (link is the first gif in my sig). And by you going first I mean the $20 for me plus the return shipping. And what ever happened to the You must login or register to view this content. account you were trying to redeem last year?

ROLL TIDE!!!
Anyone that says they can do with without having your entire PS3 is scamming you. When you put a PS3 HDD into a different PS3 it 100% of the time has to format. So when they get it they must format, then when you get it back you must format.

Do NOT buy a HDD from someone, you will have to format it! Do NOT send your HDD to someone it WONT work!.

Like I said the only way is to send them your entire PS3

Yeah opening and revealing the hidden folders in the HDD is extremely hard! I've tried to do this a month before i got a jailbrokened ps3 online. PS3 HDD Studio is what you need to decrypt your ps3, but will take ALOT of your time.

My discovery and productivity:
1st day: Really in mind to put patches in the HDD, Researching took 4 hours. Found a solution to plug up my HDD.
2nd day: Went to BestBuy, Asked one of the members of geek squad. He had the same feeling and had a jailbrokened ps3. Gaved me a HDD thing with sata cable and the power supply. <- costed me $50, i asked if i could refund it, he said yes you can but it'll hurt my feelings.
3rd day: Researched and opened my HDD <- 2 Hours of research. Plugged up my HDD to computer.
4th day: Frusterated with the HDD, Cant find my HDD on the Drive list. Researched and found a solution. Fat32Formatter helped. <- researched time 3 hours. i finally got to see my HDD on the list.
5th day: Frusterated, i wantted to see something inside the HDD. Researched and found a solution <- Folder options / uncheck hide hidden folders.
6th day: trying to unpuzzle the mumbo jumbo text. highly encrypted security text. folders not clickable also. trying out the PS3 HDD Studio. i got to the part where i had to put the dummy.mp3 in my ps3 and take it and put it in my computer and i realized that i messed up. All i done in the PS3 HDD Studio and efforts took 2 DAYS!
7th day: returned the thing back to bestbuy like a boss. nothing worked for me.

sorry if this bothered you but this was simply part of my life and what i failed because of one thing i simply did not cared to review. i evened stayed up all night too.
