Sometimes robbing houses in daylight would be the best time, everyone is at work and kids are at school. Just pose as a gardener and go around back. At night you have the cover of darkness, but you have to deal with people asleep and such.

I wouldn't do this, EVER, but there has been detailed reports in the newspaper lately about robberies, tough economy I guess.
