(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Which console do you believe is easier to hack? Each console has it's specifics, but for me personally, I believe the PS3. Why? Because anyone with a flash drive can access the gamesave files on the PS3 and modify them. When it comes to the 360, you need a specialized cable and programs in order to access the files. Also, on the PS3 you can add or delete any lines of code you want without a problem. On the 360, if you add or delete one byte of code (meaning you would have to delete some unnecessary code to add hacks) then your profile will be corrupt.

Now, I know all you think the Xbox is easier to hack now because of all these Modded XP lobbies, but believe me, it's not. To get a Modded XP lobby, you need a Jtagged Xbox, which requires an immense amount of technical skill.

Let's use a base game, like Call of Duty 4. Which console was it hacked on first? Let's hear your thoughts.

Well, I guess I can bring in the Jtagging feature right now. Yes, Xbox 360 Modders have figured out a way to make the Xbox run custom code. But the PS3 has recently been shown that it can be exploited as well. Believe me, it's only a matter of time before the PS3 can run unsigned code as well. Again, let's refer back to physical. Anyone with a USB stick and Notepad can hack the PS3. Xbox you need a transfer cable, and certain programs to access the files such as Xplorer360. And one mess up = Gamesave corruption, while PS3 you can add or delete lines of code with little fear of corruption. So I still say that the PS3 is easier to hack. And let's not get all technical here, it's hacking whether it's a few people or a lot of people.

With that logic being put in to play, before anyone released the fact that things like that can be done on a ps3, were they considered hacks? Back when limited people knew of this and not just "anyone" was able to do it because they didn't have the knowledge to do so.

All I'm saying, that's not a logic fight against Ps3. Can't just completely say something isn't a hack because anyone can do it.

When I said ever can do it I ment a 7 year old could do it. There is no fault. Simple hex editing makes you a hacker? Back in socom days you had to dump your own game saves, and then go through massive amounts of codes and use routines and stuff. Face is there is no such thing as ps3 hacking regarding games as of yet.

And id bet most can't convert hex manually Smile

When you look at it that way, it's a different case. However, I feel the title of this thread should have been "Which console is easier to hack/exploit". I believe that is Carling is really trying to get at.

Regardless of which way you look at it though, many look at "exploits" as hacks so in the end I see where he came off just saying hacks instead of hack/exploits. I've on many instances seen "exploits referred to as "hacks". I've also seen people calling it "exploit hacking".

Hell, even google agrees. Sad Awesome

I honestly believe that's where this whole misunderstanding came from. o.O

The answer is 360.

Ok?

Why? PS3 Game Saves don't count as a actual hack. If anyone can do it, then it isn't hacking.

The fact that everyone can do a modification doesn't make it less valuable, does it?

The PS3 still hasn't been hacked. The 360 also has the ability to run burned games. Even with the recent "exploit" on the ps3 which really doesn't do much the PS3 is yet to actually be hacked. Where as the 360 has been hacked 10 times over.

Flashing your drive firmware and hacking the actual console are two different things.

Also like to point out that 360 game save hacking does exist with a usb stick (Im pretty sure)

That's bull, to transfer files from your HDD to your computer, and vice versa you'll need to buy a transfer cable, or a device to connect your HDD to.

Xbox is easier to hack, if the PS3 were easier to hack we would have all kinds of crazy hacks for encrypted games such as Grand Theft Auto 4, MW2, COD4, etc... For the PS3 we are restricted to modifying the gamesave only. On Xbox we can mod the ISO, Jtag it, Gamesave Modding, etc.
You can clearly see the difference, Xbox has a lot of more opening to your hacking methods, as to PS3 we can only hack through gamesave.
