Post: When Stats Tell a Different Story

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Has anyone else fallen down the basketball stats rabbit hole lately? I started checking old player numbers just for fun and somehow lost an hour comparing seasons, teams, scoring totals, and all those little details that never show up in casual conversations. It’s funny how one famous season can make a player seem completely different until you put the numbers beside the rest of their career. I’m especially curious about how people here use historical stats when talking about great players. Do you mostly look at points and rebounds, or dig into games played, shooting percentages, and team history too? There’s a lot more context hiding in those spreadsheets than I expected.

Morning, folks. I used to glance at points and call it a day, but historical basketball data gets much more interesting when you start connecting the seasons together. A player might have one monster scoring year, then suddenly the team changes, minutes shift, or another role appears, and the numbers tell a completely different story. Some comparisons still get messy, though, especially across different eras. That’s half the fun, really.
