Seriously? You buy songs of the iTunes store, if thats what you mean, they're 79p each.

You don't HAVE to... you can easily get music online. I get some of my songs off youtube using a website that allows you to convert to mp3. Others I just download the albums from a website.
Once you've got music you want, you can import them into iTunes.
