The 27-year-old is expected to be brought before a court in the near future to face charges over it.
If Venables is found guilty of the offence, it will represent a staggering failure in his close supervision by the Justice Ministry's Probation Service.
Aged ten, Venables and pal Robert Thompson were caged for torturing and battering two-year-old James on Merseyside in 1993. They were released on special licence amid huge controversy in 2001 with new identities and lives.
They had to abide by a series of strict conditions, which would be monitored very closely by probation officers.
Since Venables was picked up by cops last week, the Government has covered up why.
Late last night, Treasury solicitors acting on behalf of the Government's top legal adviser, the Attorney General, demanded we withhold any information about Venables' alleged offence.
They argued that publishing full details of it would lead to his identification and potentially prejudice any criminal trial.
PM Gordon Brown rejected pleas from James' parents Ralph Bulger and Denise Fergus to reveal why the killer is behind bars.
Last night Justice Secretary Jack Straw agreed to meet Denise.
The Sun told yesterday how Venables' cover has been blown in jail.
Earlier inaccurate reports suggested Venables had been recalled to prison over a punch-up with a workmate and taking drugs.

No matter what you do or how many people sign it nothing will be done about it. If you want something done you will have to actually do something that everyone can see, such as a massive protest. Signing an online document won't do jack. IMO, they should be hung.

this won't put him back in jail, which is real sad. IMO someone should torture him by cutting his dick off, shove it in his a$$, then take it out, stick in his mouth, then have the biggest guy in jail f*ck him till he bleeds todeath. This also applys to everyone who has abused children. IMO

As they said ^ It won't work. The best thing to do is actually kill him yourself. Otherwise, the government won't give two ****s. Unless, there's no evidence actually leading to this sick ****.

Doing such a thing would make us no better than them. However the government needs to get its act together, and give them what they deserve. It would appear the only thing our government is good at is making excuses.

I say they just hire someone to kill him, problem solved!

I wish that would happen, but its not possible. Venables has security up the arse. The Government is ****ing corrupt. He kills an inocent child, yet he's got it better off than us.

Remember two things though. 1. He was 10, 2. He doesnt have it better than us. Millions of people want to kill him.

While i could never even attempt to justify what he did. I dont think he should be killed for a few reasons. 1. It makes us as bad as him.
2. He is probably going to suffer more from being alive.

But the government isnt corrupt, what it is is that whatever they do it will never be right. If they didnt help him, he would get killed and people would blame the government, if he is protected, people complain the government has its priorities wrong. Either way the government loses. However our government does fail.

First of all nobody even knows what crime he has comitted. Don't belive the papers as they are WRONG. The government cannot release any details about what he has done as if they do the jury at any case regarding that incident will assume it's venables and be biased. Obviously everybody knows it was a tragic act but he was a 10 year old at the time. They should have been able to change the mind set of a 10year old in 8 years. Finally does doing a second crime make it worse than somebody doing the exact crime but having no previous conviction (as what he is being charged for is probably not that rare).

Edit: my curiosity made me click the petition link and it's from the f****** SUN the exact paper that has been claiming to know the reason for his arrest, dirty rumor making paper that they are anyway
