according to internet reports, next year’s e3 media and business summit is scheduled to take place in early june 2009, with the esa allegedly hoping to nab an estimated 40,000 attendees for the popular event.
News originates from u.s. Tv show x-play, which yesterday claimed that "the old e3 is making a comeback," reporting that the show will be held at the los angeles convention centre and will run through june 2-4.
X-play’s blair herter commented, "a broader range of industry guests will be invited,” hinting that it may be possible for consumers to attend the show once again.
"while the event won't technically be open to the public with ticket sales, this does mean that more people will have a shot at attending, and yes, i'm talking about you,” added herter.
A further report from newsweek’s level up blog suggests that the event will run through to saturday, june 6, with the last few days of the show open to the general public.
Formally known as the electronic entertainment expo, e3 made its debut in 1995, and for 11 years was home to some of the industries biggest announcements before it was ultimately downsized in 2007 due to overwhelming demand from exhibitors.
