(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello there!

I'm Aston, hi Smile , and im from the UK , I live in the east midlands about an hour north of London. Now the UK has always made great music but unfortunately it doesn't get noticed as much as US music, unless it gets into the US charts, so in this thread im going to enlighten you with the world of UK "Grime" music!

Now, on this forum i only know myself and Jayy-Designz who listens to this music.

So what is grime?!

Wikipedias definition is : Grime is a genre of urban music which first emerged in Bow, East London, England in the early 2000s, primarily a development of UK garage, dancehall, and hip hop.

Many artists such as Dizzie Rascal, Chipmunk, Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder, Wiley and Bashy( You might not know him, but soon he will be big!) all started out in the grime scene but unfortunatley because of the low amount of people who know about this music they had to make there music more mainstream to make decent amounts of money from it.

Some examples of their grime music are:

Bashy ft Loick Essien - When the sky falls
Tinchy Stryder - Mainstream Money
Wiley - Avalanche
Dizzee Rascal - Jus' A Rascal
Chipmunk - 64 Bar Statement
Tinchy Stryder - Mainstream Money
Tinie Tempah ft K.I.G Family - Headz Shoulderz Kneez and Toez

And also the song that got me hooked on Grime the one and only

Boy Better Know - Too Many Man

Another great up and coming artist is JME ( also in Boy Better Know)

here is my favourite JME song :

JME - Serious

So there it is, i just wanted to get Grime out there a bit more, maybe get a few more people interested in it so artists can continue making grime instead of having to go mainstream.

If you want any more information, artists or songs PM me or leave a comment here.

Thanks for reading Smile!
Peace.

I generally hate grime music and anything that side of the spectrum. Anyone can make it, all you need is a computer and that's what I don't like about it. I'm more into rock where people play instruments and actually sing rather than talk in time to music, but this is just my opinion. Also I'm not talking about screeming either :p I can't make out any of that shit XD
