(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); NEW YORK (Reuters) - Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was fined $25,000 by the National Basketball Association on Friday for criticizing officials and using inappropriate language in a post-game news conference.

The league said in a statement that the player had been fined for his behavior after the 109-104 defeat by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

Garnett, who helped the Celtics to their 17th NBA title in 2008, used an expletive as he expressed concern at the number of free throws awarded to Oklahoma's Kevin Durant.
