2:15 - 2:30 without a doubt. I don't want to eat toast that is still in the bread stage, as that really ruins the entire concept of toast. However, I want to actually taste the toasted bread, not the burned remains.

Exactly, anything less than 2 minutes is simply warm bread, it doesn't deserve the title of 'toast'.
