(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); If you didnt already know, South Park has been surrounded by controversy lately because of a new episode featuring the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Muslims everywhere have been going crazy (not for the first time) over the episode, expressing how offended they are, and demanding the episode be cancelled. Yet we dont see the respective religions of Christianity and Buddhism complaining about this however...

....because they arent over sensitive extremists who feel the urge to resolve everything with violence! Im Catholic, and i find this pretty funny! I dont mean im a Catholic by practice, i dont actually go to mass every week. I mean i was born into a Catholic family. But over the years these sort of things have caused me to grow apart from religion to the point i really couldnt care less about it. Nowadays i just see religion as a cause of unnecessary conflict and argument. My parents are relatively serious about religion though, but they can see the funny side too!

South Park in the epiosode showed Muhammad as a stick man, they showed him dressed up in a bear costume, and for the majority of the show - he was covered in a censorship bar! Clearly they went too far!?!? :S (im being sarcastic BTW. they clearly didnt go too far whatsoever!)

CNN a couple of weeks ago did a report on a radical Muslim group. The man (founder of the group) who in the same report stated that 911 was justified, claimed the South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will end up dead for the episode.

South Park are known for their unwillingness to accept censorship, fighting it in almost every episode. CNN in the report wrote this:

The show has mocked Jews, Catholics, Mormons, Scientologists and atheists, among (many) others.

... EXACTLY!! Everyone is made fun of at some point in South Park. No need to take things so personally.

So are the Muslims way over sensitive, or are they right?? Whats your opinion??

I don't think they are its just what they believe, and they don't want that to be made fun of. So I dont think they are oversensitive at all.

theyll bomb us again. they didnt even show what he looked like, even in the older episode. the retards probably didnt translate it to their language and thought the bear was him (not a costume covering him).

South Park ftw!

I myself do not follow any religion as they are a waste of time and are all hypocritical (maybe with an exeption to wicca and budhissm) and just yet another reason for man to kill man

Spot on....

As much as I ****ing despise religion and everything it stands for, there is a point where you have to draw the line. It blatantly says in their religious book that you shouldn't be drawing the prophet Mohammed. There is a fine line between expressing ones views and purposely offending someone.

However, they do get touchy as shit over the most pointless things. Like that teacher they were going to kill because a kid in her class called the class teddy Mohammed. A kid isn't going to know any better! Proving the point, a kid is no more a religion as they are a member of the postal workers union.

Very valid points but I dont necessarily believe South Park are trying to provoke or piss off Muslims. Its way more than that. I think its more of a statement that they wont tolerate censorship. I think they're standing for what they believe in and standing for the rights WE are entitled to in OUR countries. Freedom of speech. Why should we be oppressed and forced to live by the rules of a different religion WE dont live by or believe in?
