I understand that you think that way. Instead of a poll, a question could've been more enlightening when answered with less limited options such as yes & no. Extremes are never the way to go in my opinion;left or right winged. Some things i'm liberal on, some things i'm more social tended. It's called having an opinion. I'm not going to support some group that does things against my morality as long as it prospers my wellbeing.
The questioin you should really ask yourself is how far have you alienated yourself from others by believing they wish to opress they're opinion, while in fact they just wish to be respected in it, as you are respected in your beliefs?
Fear is well known for being the strongest emotion, the one that gets your attention. The mind can easily make you believe you are a knight in shiny armor, so it can live with the fear in a way that you can feel comfortable, knowing that you are virtuously righteous in your beliefs...
My best advice is, do not make it deceive you in thinking everyone is "wrong", except for you and everyone that you think believes the same thing as you do
