While he's not looking grab his baseball bat and smack him over the head. When he turns round, that's his first mistake. Opening up his face for a brutal smacking with the bat. Now he will do two of things here. He will run or he will fight.

If he runs, quick chase him down and batter him so he will never attempt to get revenge
If he fights then this is your chance to finish the job. Assuming he will lunge for the weapon, reveal the side with the Nail sticking out and go for the head or internal organs.
