Post: Capture Cards

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This thread could be in either PS3 or XBOX, so I put it in General Discussion =D

Firstly the most well known Capture Cards:

1.) Dazzle
2.) Easycap
3.) Hauppauge Hd Pvr
4.) Blackmagic Intensity Pro
5.) Blitzboxes

Dazzle and Easycap

These two capture cards require you to play in SD and they only let you record in SD. This is a major disadvantage as it reduces quality expressed on your TV, but these produce ok quality and your quality can improve if you follow some tutorials which include colour correction etc. But many people "like" these capture cards because of their cost.

(The following prices or not the lowest prices or the maximum, they are just the ones off amazon)

[ame=https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pinnacle-Systems-8230-10063-01-DAZZLE-RECORDER/dp/B001BE53AQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1274037505&sr=1-3]DAZZLE DVD RECORDER DVC101: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo[/ame] : £37.00

*NOTE* The more expensive Dazzle (the black one) does not produce better quality, you just get a better program and if are premium, I have provided good programs in a thread. (Can be found at bottom of the thread)

Also if are going to purchase a Dazzle or Easycap, I advise getting one of these: You must login or register to view this content.

With the cable you will not need splitters etc and it will also produce better quality.

Blitzbox HSad Awesome

This is a capture card that allows you to play in HD but record in SD, this capture is more expensive than a Dazzle and I advise if your going for this, just save up for a HD PVR, as you will achieve better quality.

HD Pvr and Blackmagic Intensity Pro:

HD PVR is the world’s first High-Definition video recorder for making real-time H.264 compressed recordings at resolutions up to 1080i. HD-PVR records component video (YCrCb) from cable TV and satellite set top boxes, with a built-in IR blaster to automatically change TV channels for scheduled recordings. Audio is recorded using AAC.

This allows you to record and play in HD but the recordings take up lots of memory and will kill a average laptop/computer.

Intensity Pro also has full integration with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Fusion.

The same aspects as a HD PVR, but is placed into the Pc/Laptop.

Maybe add in the NEW BlackMagic Intensity Shuffle as its suppose to be equal to the HD PVR and doesnt have to be placed into your laptop/computer Smile

Personally, I would buy a PVR but you should wait for a review of the new blackmagic or to see the quality and then you can decide.
