Ali in his prime would have just outsmarted Tyson. All Tyson was, was brute strength with fierce intensity and a mean way of fighting, but he lacked smarts. Ali wouldn't try to outbox Tyson because of his speed and aggression. Instead he'd replicate what he did against Foreman. Come out at the bell and hit him hard and fast with a few good blows, just enough to get Mike angry, Ali would head to the ropes and weather the storm. At tops Mike would only be able to do that for 8-9 rounds with his conditioning, if Mike let up during the earlier rounds, Ali would just aggravate him more by going in early and quick jabbing him in the chin then back to the ropes.
It comes down to the three things a fighter needs to have in a bout. Strength. Speed. And Intelligence. If you possess more in two of the categories than you opponent you've won the fight.
