I think not. Maybe in the field of artistic matters (and I'm not even completely sure of that--custom PCs are potentially much more powerful and open than Macs), but for everything else, it's hard to take Macs seriously. They just don't perform well enough to justify the price, they have terrible software compatibility, and there are far too many limitations on hardware.
Also, regarding the ability to experience both operating systems, I'm afraid that Windows covers everything. The only advantage to Mac OSX is that it looks nice, but Windows and Linux can both look similar if desired. It's not like you're losing any software or hardware compatibility by not being able to experience OSX.
