They seem to be doing nothing about it apart from cap it off. Can they not cut the oil flow?
What do you think they've been doing for the last month? These underground stores of oil are not like the boiler in your house. You can't just turn a tap and stop more coming out. Sure they could have just cut the flow along the pipe. The problem with that is the pipe is in about a million pieces all over the sea...

Whats a real disgrace is the fact that people are blaming BP for this mess, when in actuality it is originally caused by our obsession, dependence and sheer greed. I mean if we didnt have to drive jacked up hummers to get to work in the city which is 2 blocks away.
I am in no way saying I dont use my fair share of fossil fuels, but I am saying that people are pointing their fingers pretty quick.
Now all we need is a good hurricane down there and it would clean the mess right up...right?
I love how they've suddenly became British Petroleum now that something has gone wrong. Nobody seems to call them BP any more. It's Americas way of blaming someone else. If that's the case, we should pack our bags and get out of their. They seem to forget that BP are running the show when it comes to oil. I'm sure BP's oil rich buddies in the middle east wouldn't mind stopping the yanks having oil.
