Fox News' Bill O'Reilly is warning that if President Barack Obama ever bypasses Congress and uses his pardon power to make millions of illegal aliens citizens, he could face serious calls for his impeachment.

“If President Obama were to sign an executive order giving illegal aliens amnesty, his career would be over and an impeachment movement would explode,” O'Reilly said Friday night on his “Talking Points” segment during his top-rated Fox show.

At the same time, O'Reilly said he did not believe reports that the Obama administration would grant such a blanket amnesty.

Fox News, however, reported this week: “The Obama administration has been holding behind-the-scenes talks to determine whether the Department of Homeland Security can unilaterally grant legal status on a mass basis to illegal immigrants, a former Bush administration official who spoke with at least three people involved in those talks told FoxNews.com.”

The Department of Homeland Security estimates that at least 10.8 million illegal immigrants are living in the United States.

During his 2008 campaign, Obama promised pro-immigration and Hispanic groups that he would make an amnesty program a top priority. But such a plan has taken a back seat in favor of other Obama legislative initiatives, including healthcare and financial regulation reform.

With congressional elections fast approaching, both the legislative calendar and the climate for new immigration legislation appears to offer immigration legislation a slim chance of passing this year.

Republicans, led by Arizona Sen. John McCain, have been angered that Obama has done little to secure the U.S.-Mexico border, and have made that a prerequisite condition before any discussion of immigration reform can take place.

Reports that the Obama administration is weighing ways to circumvent Congress have Republicans worried. On Monday, eight Republican senators sent the president a letter saying they are concerned that he will grant unilateral amnesty to America's illegal immigrant population if his efforts to overhaul current U.S. policy fails in Congress.

The letter called on Obama to abandon any attempt to "unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. Such a move would further erode the American public's confidence in the federal government and its commitment to securing the borders and enforcing the laws already on the books."

The eight senators who signed the letter were Charles Grassley of Iowa, Orrin Hatch of Utah, David Vitter of Louisiana, Jim Bunning of Kentucky, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Johnny Isakson of Georgia, James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Thad Cochran of Mississippi.

GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa told Fox News that the White House has solicited opinions from experts on possible avenues for granting "amnesty for a large number of people."

A former Bush administration official also told Fox News that talks on the subject have been held by Obama officials who are "studying legal ways to legalize people without having to go through any congressional debate about it."

Republicans believe that Obama is anxious to grant citizenship to millions of illegals so he can add millions of new Democratic voters to the electoral rolls, ensuring his re-election in 2012 and tipping the national balance of power in favor of Democratic candidates for the foreseeable future.

O’Reilly also criticized the Obama administration for its lax treatment of the illegal alien issue, noting that Obama had appointed Harold Hurrt to be the liaison between the federal government and states over the increasingly contentious issue of illegal immigration.

Hurrt is the former police chief of Houston and Phoenix, and O'Reilly says he is “outwardly sympathetic to illegal aliens. As [police] chief, he refused to enforce federal immigration law. Now Hurrt is a federal immigration official? Come on, that's insane.”

Hurrt's appointment “proves that the president is extremely left on the immigration issue,” O'Reilly said.

All I can say is "Please?". Well I am not a huge fan of Obama, and I don't know how many there are now since the oil spill. Tell me what you think.

If no one believes that than why would he be out having cinco de mayo parties and getting jerseys while the state of Tennessee floods and has its residents dieing when he could have sent over some type of help or at least had someone open a donation line. I went over as soon as I heard to whitehouse.gov to find the donation line, didn't find any yet amazingly we can still donate to help Haiti. He didn't show up to Arlington this year which is a big slap in the face to the families that have their spouses, kids, or parents who have died in the line of duty. Which wouldn't have been so bad if he wasn't the one sending 60,000+ troops over. Right after he received the peace award as well.

Yeah so if he does get impeached it would be great, the economy and country might still have a chance of survival.

Not to mention if he lets those illegals in then how hard do you think it would be for a terrorist to get into the US.

Well if Bush didn't start the war we couldnt have ti send troops. Just because hes the president doesnt mean he knows absolutly everything. Not everythings his fault. Also, how does the economy get better when someone gets fired? Thats how this all started i thought.

My facts may not be all correct, but this is just my oppinion.

I'm sorry didn't realize Bush was still in office. The economy gets better when someone knows what they are doing and isn't going out getting jerseys. How is the US supposed to get better when we have a president that spends money on bailouts that don't do anything. It's a good thing those banks got the money that didn't go anywhere. I support the war, kill all those mother****ing Taliban bitches. They hate and want to kill everyone who isn't themselves which isn't even true in some cases because they do want to kill themselves. What started the this was banks lending out more money than they had to people who couldn't pay them back, which caused everything to topple over like dominoes. What a typical answer from someone who just hates other people for not agreeing with them, "Well Bush...But Bush..." Thats great, I care about the current guy running the country and what he is doing and hope they don't end up failing or harming the country further. Shouldn't you? I don't get why people post that are you trying to say that its okay to do it because the someone else did it that makes it okay? When instead the current president should taking steps to improve the country instead of giving out billions of dollars to banks to give their CEOs raises and bonuses.

I doubt he will be impeached but I highly suspect he or even another candidate from the democratic party will not be reelected/elected. You cannot blame Obama for BP's oil spill though, or blame Bush for the war. The war was a response desired by America after 9/11. People will always look for a scapegoat and blame whoever is in charge though.

hard working americans will not work for the same wages the immigrants do . thats the main problem in arizona . americans want everything with benefits , 401k , blah blah blah but a migrant just works to survive and live day by day. i sure wont work in the sun and for half the wage and no health care but someone has to do it . i have no problem if obama did this but not like it says in this article. unemployment would have to be @ 1 percent , a 97 percent chance of no illegals come thru the border. i say 97 because theres gonna always be a way. and send all the criminals incarcerated or any found guilty further on, back to their own crounty to do thier full sentence. and so forth .. why not? we did it for the irish, jews, cubans, mormons , we took the blacks made em slave and gave em rights and the list goes on . so why not the latins? most of the state that borders mexico used to be mexico but we took it just like we took everything else.

to me this isnt a bad idea if acted out properly. and on a side note i dont believe anything fox news says anyways:n:

I agree with you entirely. It's not bad to blame the person who is in charge when they are causing it. Like when sending over US dollars to Haiti during a war and poor economic times while parts of the US like Tennessee suffer from natural disasters but, get no help at all. Or sets up Socialized medicine. Or what this topic is about.

Man what's up with you ****ing crackers and hating on Mexicans. We undoubtedly moved into this country and did our share of improving the country. We(Native Americans) were here first so don't think this is your country. The white people themselves made this country hell, not us. And Obama is doing the right thing because everyone is made equal so it's right he should give Mexicans a chance for a life.A chance to make the country better.

Why should we support immigrants that take that money send it back to their country and don't pay taxes. They can already sign up for some benefits issued by the gov. while being illegal theres an article out there somewhere about that. If they want to come here they need to go through the process that is getting here legally then I'll be glad to help them out and have no problem with that. Yeah being stuck in poverty sucks, what about the Americans stuck in it and will take any job to get some kind of income. At least they can survive there while being homeless, imagine what a homeless guy in Alaska goes through during the winter with no money.

I don't hate on Mexicans, I hate on illegals. It's not a racism thing. If they had something to improve the country wouldn't their country be better? If you are Mexican and you are here legally and having issues, I would help you if not, stop stealing from my country and get out.
