O.K
Quite obviously I haven't been on the forums as long as some veterans of NGU; however I have been on long enough to tell that things are copied and pasted way too often.
These things include but are not limited to:
YouTube Videos -
People post YouTube videos with comments in the thread such as:
- Not my video, but still...
- My mate's video
- +Rep
Why are you spamming the forums with YouTube videos that aren't yours? Some people that do this even have the audacity to put '+rep me' in their posts!
Text from other sources -
I've seen a few times that people have went to somewhere, such as another forum, and copied and pasted a thread from that forum to NGU forums without giving the original poster any sort of credit. Useful or not, it's pretty annoying.
Yet again, like the YouTube vidoes, some people that do this even have the audacity to put '+rep me' in their posts!
Then we have some people that think copying and pasting things from other sources is too lengthy of a task, and then decide that they will re-post something that has already been posted.
Things things include but are not limited to:
Tutorials -
A great example would be the prestige hack for the Playstation 3. How many times has someone re-posted that tutorial, but simply went with the claim that it's more simplistic, or that it is faster.
9 times out of 10, it's just the exact same method that has already been posted.
These people, yet again (facepalm), have something in the thread that relates along the lines of '+rep me'. Yeah, for re-posting the same information we already had - again.
Glitches/hacks -
I guess it's what NGU is mainly used for, but this is still no excuse.
Time and time again do I see people post things along the lines of '______ glitch, found by me'. Then you go to page 5 in the same forum, and find the exact same glitch!
Guess what? They also post things like '+rep me'.
I guess the aim of this thread is to get users taking advantage of the 'Search' function (Yes, there is such a thing - and it's not in heaven!).
So, for those of you who haven't figured it out already, here's a guide on how to open it and use it.
You must login or register to view this content.
1] Go to the top right of your screen and click 'Search ▼'.
2] A dropdown box will appear. Enter your search term in the highlighted text input box.
3] Click 'Go' to reveal a set of search results for those keywords.
So that is the search function. It's not that hard, is it?
Hopefully now more people will start using it instead of partaking in plagiarism (which is theft).
Thanks,
Awesomechaos
