The trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 spooked audiences in America so much that it has been pulled from some cinemas.

Paranormal Activity 2: The trailer has led to complaints in America that it's too terrifying

It opens with a man being thrown into the camera and then shows "footage" of a baby in a crib and a dog barking before a mysterious figure appears in a doorway.

Audiences in Texas, however, who saw the trailer at Cinemark cinemas before a screening of Twilight Saga: Eclipse, complained that it was just too frightening.

Bosses of the chain felt compelled to remove the trailer from several of their complexes.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest confirmed just how chilling the sequence is on his Twitter page, writing: ‘Paranormal Activity 2 teaser trailer… hold someone.’

Other Twitter users agreed wholeheartedly with Seacrest.

Paranormalsoul tweeted: ‘Paranormal Activity 2 trailer may scare the $%!@ out of you…’ and nicole_frapp wrote: 'Is it sad that i couldn't get through the paranormal activity 2 trailer? the last movie wasn't too scary, but the new trailer is. Sad'

However, not everyone on Twitter agreed. TheMoviebuff said: ‘The Paranormal Activity 2 trailer is not that scary. What are people so scared about? The 1st movie's trailer was much scarier.’

The first film was a huge hit at the box office and a spoof of the movie was performed by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin at this year's Oscars.
Paranormal Activity 2 is directed by Tod Williams and is released in the US on October 22.

That's not one bit scary. But I guess when you play it in a theater full of Twlight fans people are bound to complain.

Are you kidding me? I didn't think that was scary at all when I first saw it. The whole first movie was hardly scary.

lol I just noticed the part that it was people watching the new Twilight movie, now I can understand a little better. The theater was full of queer guys and girls. :p

and you probably watched it with a bunch of your mates. had a curry and talked throught the whole thing. you have to get into it for it to frighten you. if you are just going to watch it to make a mockery of it then dont bother watching it in the first place.

I watched it in my room, by myself, at 11:00PM until 12:30AM, and I had my turtle beaches on to try and scare myself, and still I was hardly scared. I still thought some parts were stupidly funny too. Who are you to tell me not to watch it?

EXACTLY. A bunch gays and girls watched the trailer, no wonder it was so scary for them!

I'm 14 (in-case you didn't know) I watched the first movie on my own, at night with all the lights off from: 11pm to about 12-something. I didn't get scared once, there were some parts that made me jump, that, I have to admit, but other than that, it wasn't scary. I just watched the trailer for part 2 now, and it was NOT SCARY AT ALL. The beginning made me jump, but even that, is the ending of part 1. The rest of the trailer was shit.

I enjoyed part 1 and I'm looking forward to part 2. Maybe it might be scary Happy

It's not if close to being scary. They must have been showing a different trailer in theaters. I shit myself when I saw the trailer for Toy Story 3.
