(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Toronto, Canada (AHN) - YouTube users hoping to watch videos of Justin Beiber found themselves redirected to porn sites. Hackers committed the attack by exploiting a functionality in the comments section. The teen phenom who has seen his popularity explode due to the Internet is now also at the Internet's mercy in regards to pranks and hacker attacks.

Over the weekend pranksters redirected users to porn sites and in addition also sent users to banner messages reporting the singer's death. With Bieber's videos receiving thousands of views a day and mostly by underage girls the experience is sure to have caused some duress to at least more than one fan and parent.

Google was able to stop the attack, which originated from a weak point in the site’s comment section.

A Google spokesperson said, “We released a complete fix for the problem in about two hours. We’re continuing to study the vulnerability to help prevent similar issues in the future.”

The incident has been blamed on the Internet forum 4Chan, however other groups are reported to have joined in on the prank once the original hacking was made public.

XSS exploit perhaps? I wonder how they did it... last time I tried I couldn't find any XSS vulnerabilities.
