Hello and welcome to my guide on how to make a successful and likeable montage. This guide will basically give you a few tips on how to not make it noobie and gay.

So, without further ado, let us begin.

Introduction
So first let me begin talking to you about my favourite montage that is out there on YouTube that I have seen at the moment. It is by a person called 'Joehands0me' and the montage is simply called 'Sonata'.

Anyway, now there are many reasons on my this montage is my personal favourite. These are just some of them:

Now I'm going to go over a few of these points in my guide and hopefully you can take them into account and make such a likeable montage like Joe's. Also, Joe's montage almost made me cry :'

Editing
Now editing in a montage is key, as the audience who watch the video will want to see top class edited videos. If you're just uploading a video for you and you're friends to see, editing doesn't matter, but if you plan on making a montage for the world to see, editing is key.

Can't edit for shit? No problem
So what do you do if you can't edit for shit? Simple, hire someone to edit for you. There are thousands of people out there that would edit for you for free, the top class editors you may have to pay for, but there will always be someone.

Want to learn to edit?
What do you do if you want to learn to edit?! That's fine. Just 'YouTube' some tutorials whilst you're editing, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for, and if you're looking to edit someone elses clips, but afraid to ask someone for some clips. Just go onto YouTube, search 'mw2 editing contest' and then download their clips and practice. Remember the old saying, 'Practice makes perfect'

Editing Software
Editing software when editing is probably the main thing. You don't want any montages with effects from Windows Movie Maker, you'd just get laughed at hands down. So, go onto You must login or register to view this content. and download Sony Vegas, the best editing software around.

Music
Now Music in a montage is probably the most important thing. You want to pick a song that's unique and that nobody else has used before, that's exactly why I like Joehands0me's montage, it was just so unique in every way, it ticked all the boxes for me

Improvisation
Now, some of you may call me crazy here but Improvise, Improvise, Improvise. This is how good montages are made. Listen to music, feel the beat, think of your clips you got... would it go good with this music, would it not. I improvise all the time, and you'd never believe with all of the ideas that you can come up with!

Quality
Quality in a video really does matter. So if you can afford it, but to stubborn to get it because you think a 'azzle' will do just fine, no it won't, get a HD PVR. There is a massive difference.

Synchronisation
Yes so music to video synchronisation. Very important, I think it makes you're video much much better. This is why I likes Joehands0me's Sonata, as the syncing was just ground breaking astonishing.

Simplicity
Yes that's right, sometimes simplicity in a video can be key. Don't try too hard in editing, try and keep it simple. You know, the odd effect every now and then is okay, but don't keep on repeating effects every 10 Seconds, it can get annoying sometimes.

What to add in you're montage
Right so now we move onto probably the most important part of this guide, this is key as if you add in your montage a missed no scope, people with just be like 'Lol this guy fails'. So try and just add in shots that have no misses.

Intro
Make sure that the Introduction to you're montage isn't to long, other wise people will just get bored and leave you're video. 0-20 is fine, any longer, and I know I would have already left.

Final Tips

Tags
Add tags that you think are appropriate to you're video, don't bother adding hundreads of tags, it doesn't work, trust me

No Private Matches
In a montage, please make sure that there are no Private matches. It makes the tage look nooby and then all of the people who watch you're videos will think all the rest of you're tage and other montages are crap, set up or even 'fake and gay'

Make a Trailer
If you have say 100+ Subscribers, make a trailer for you're montage, and add in the video.. coming out at 500 Subscribers. This will boost you're subscribers, but only if the Trailer is immense.
