Well, that was short. Promised as a game-changer, 1 vs 100 was a great diversion from the norm of shooting people in the face on Xbox Live, and lots of fun with friends. Personally, making it into the Mob with a shot at real prizes is one of my fondest online gaming memories, and certainly one of the most stressful.

So what happened? Who knows. The game was loaded with ads in the second season, annoyingly so with regards to Sprint, but it apparently wasn’t enough to salvage the project, as host Chris Cashman and others have been let go. Microsoft Game Studios’ General Manager Dave McCarthy confirmed to Kotaku the party is over, and the technology will be used on other projects, without any specification as to what those may be.

Personally I think its a great shame, I for one used to enjoy teaming up with a small party and playing this online especially with all the other people. Lets just hope they use whatever tech they have from this for something better.

That sucks. I use to watch my friend play it all night.
