Everyday i look at the shoutbox and see the regular bunch of people asking for rep or for them to post a link and that they'll return some rep.

In 1 day i had 3 private messages asking for rep in return for rep. I really don't think it's fair these people get away with getting famous for doing nothing. I compare them to You must login or register to view this content. except without the life.

Reputation boosting is making multiple accounts and constantly repping yourself or another user back and forth. When people post interesting things, whether or not their motivation is to get rep or not, people rep them entirely fairly. Reputation is just a number. And, believe me... it's the Internet, they definitely aren't getting famous by rep boosting.
