I don't like religion, as I believe many people are brainwashed into it as kids. Many schools are christian or catholic schools in the united kingdom. I went to a christian primary school and they made us sing hymes, made us act out many bible stories and when I refused to sing or be in these plays I was put on detention, when I questioned god's existance in a class to a teacher, they rang my parents up.

Say all the nice things you want, there is still zero evidence that a deity of any form exists. Yes, religion CAN help people in times of need, it CAN setup charities, etc, but in the end everything has been done in the name of an imaginary being. Saying that being religious is good is akin to saying being a schizophrenic who helps out the neighborhood children because his hallucinations told him to do so is good. They don't live in reality, and their altered reality can impede on others' freedoms. When religious people are in control, they base laws off of their own beliefs. In the end, people need truth and not a comforting lie.
