how would the egg form in the first place then? had to be weird combination of things mating together to form the chicken.

Actually I remember hearing somewhere that an egg (not the egg its-self, whats inside) can't grow unless it receives proteins from the parent chicken. These proteins are found ONLY in chickens, so in fact, the chicken came before chicken eggs.
