A Partnership Contest with NextGenTactics and TheGameStation

Official NGTGames Director Contest Rules

We are very excited to announce our first ever NGTGames Director Contest. In partnership with TheGameStation, we are giving away the following prizes:

Grand Prize: Eligibility for a 1-year contract with TheGameStation.

Secondary Prize: Up to 10 1-year contracts with NGTGames that will allow you to monetize videos submitted for posting on our NGTGames Channel.

Background on NGTGames

We created NGTGames as a hub for other Directors to obtain viewership outside their own Channels and to bring new viewership into the NextGenTactics network. Our recent partnership with TheGameStation will allow us to share monetization of videos submitted to NGTGames with the Directors that create them. We have also established NGTGames as sort of an incubator for Directors in hopes of becoming eligible for direct partnership with TheGameStation.

We will work with our Channel partners to help grow their own channels alongside NGTGames, provide monetization sharing of content submitted for placement on NGTGames, and provide the possibility (not the guarantee) of possible consideration for direct partnership with TheGameStation.

The Contest: How to Enter

All YouTube Channel Directors and Producers that produce gameplay videos WITH commentary with a total channel subscriber count of 5,000 or less are eligible to apply. To enter the contest, you must produce a gameplay video complete with commentary that contains our NGTGames pre-roll and post-roll (links provided at You must login or register to view this content.) and post that video to your own YouTube channel. Note that your YouTube Channel must have been registered prior to June 6, 2010 and contain existing gameplay content to be eligible for this contest. Also, all videos used for submission must be compliant with the YouTube Partnership Terms of Service.

Once your video is live on your YouTube channel, you must submit your entry on our NextGenTactics Forums (i.e., here) by creating a "new topic" in our NGTGames Director Contest sub-forum.

When submitting your video, click on "new topic" (make sure you start your own topic as opposed to posting in someone elses) and enter a descriptive Subject for your video and embed the video directly into the body of the forum post. You may enter as much information and/or detail about the video below the embedded video itself. It's probably a good idea to add as much information about you and the video as possible under your video submission.

All Directors and/or Producers may only submit a SINGLE video entry into the contest. If you submit more than one entry, you may risk disqualification from the contest. Therefore, make your submission count by ensuring it is of the highest quality possible.

The deadline for video submissions is September 24, 2010. We will then choose approximately 15-20 semi-finalists from the videos submitted to move on to the second phase of the contest. The semi-finalists will be announced on October 1, 2010. Video submissions will be judged on the following:

* Viewer Engagement: Is the commentary engaging to the viewer and keeps them watching? This quality is of primary concern during this stage of the contest.

* Gameplay: Considering contest entry is based upon a single video submission, the quality of gameplay should be well above average.

* Game Played: We are looking for Directors and Producers who are capable of producing videos across a wide genre of video games.

* Video Quality: While HD video quality is not essential at this time, it may have some impact on our decision to select semi-finalists.

* Forum Feedback: Direct feedback from viewers on our Forums will also have a large impact on the selections for semi-finalists, particularly from our Forum users who have been with us for some time. It would be advantageous to garner support from your YouTube Channel, friends, etc. as the more feedback you have for your submission, the greater the likelihood we will review it in greater detail.

Semi-Finalists (Phase 2)

For a period of approximately 3 weeks, all semi-finalists will be invited to submit a series of videos to be uploaded to our NGTGames Channel. Note that ALL current NGTGames Directors will also be included as semi-finalists during this phase of the contest. We will issue weekly submission criteria for this series of videos and ask each semi-finalist to submit two videos per week according to this criteria.

For example, during Week #1, we may ask you to submit 2 videos showing stellar gameplay with commentary for 2 distinct video games. For Week #2, we may ask you to submit 2 videos showing gameplay failures with commentary discussing them and areas for improvement.

During Phase 2, we will be reviewing video submissions across the criteria described above, however, we will ALSO be looking for the following:

* Your YouTube Channel: If you want to monetize your content, you should be aware of some/many of the restrictions on that content. For example, you cannot monetize copyrighted material such as music unless it is music you own or you have licensed. We will also be looking at your other channel videos as well as your interactions with your viewers. Channels that do not contain copyrighted material, show consistency with their videos, and are interactive with their viewers will have an advantage for being selected as a Contest Finalist.

* Direct Viewer Support on our NGTGames Channel: We will also be reviewing the support you receive from current and new subscribers and viewers on our NGTGames Channel. The more support you receive for your videos, the more of an advantage you will have to be selected as a Contest Finalist.

Finalists

Phase 2 will be completed near October 25, 2010. Once complete, we will take approximately one week to perform a complete review of all submissions and to select up to 10 "Finalists" for the Director Contest. All finalists will be eligible for a 1-year contract to post videos on our NGTGames Channel (this is the Secondary Prize).

Grand Prize

NextGenTactics and TheGameStation will also select at least one 1 Grand Prize winner to be eligible for a 1-year contract with TheGameStation that will include all benefits associated with TheGameStation membership including entry into their cross promotion network, featured content, and will allow you to monetize all of your YouTube Channel content that is compliant with the YouTube Partnership Terms of Service. Note that additional selection criteria may apply, including a direct interview with representatives from NextGenTactics and/or TheGameStation.
