A female teen sumo wrestling champion says she was FORCE-FED more than 5,500 calories a day and tortured to eat for hours at a time when she was a student at a prestigious sumo wrestling high school in Japan. The non-stop eating became so torturous, she eventually had to escape in secret.

Australian Sammy Stacey, now 16, became the first western girl to attend the Tottori Johoku High School after winning the gold medal at the Sumo World Wrestling Championships in 2008 at the age of 14.

Sammy’s days started at 5 a.m. when she had to prepare breakfast for other students because of her low-rank. Then she spent the rest of the day eating up to five bowls of “greasy porridge with eggs and lumps of meat.” Instructors would scream at her until she finished. She added: “As soon as I put my bowl down, they were prodding me to pick it up again.”

In between meals, Sammy had to snack on beans covered in oil.

For lunch, she had bowls of meat and rice.

But after six months on an intense eating schedule and peaking at 322 pounds, she knew she couldn’t take it anymore. “I felt constantly sick from all the food we had to eat,” she said.

Sammy wanted out. So she called her father and he planned to pick her up at her next tournament without telling staff.

Now back at home, Sammy says she longs to sumo wrestle again, but the Australia Sumo Federation has banned her for going AWOL.
