(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I just got done with my company taxes, or so I thought. I missed almost all of the Superbowl doing supid taxes, and when I finally get done-I have four freaking errors to fix. The bad thing is I don't know how. The other bad thing is: the money I have to pay in is going to pay for a bail out that didn't work.

Sorry guys, I just had to get that off my chest.

Now some tips for the 2008 tax season:

1) DO NOT lie or cheat; it will cost you allot more money then its worth
2) Get it done early if you have to pay in; this way the pain and suffering will be done early in the year and it won't ruin the hole year.
3) Pay someone to do it; TRUST ME it is not worth your time to try and figure out every new law or change in forms.
4) Itemize your return if at all possible, there are allot of ways that will get you more money back that are not know to the average person. Not all people can do this, but ask your accountant or tax preparer if its right for you. Example: Four years ago my wife and I itemized for the first time, and instead of getting $1200.00 back we got a little over $4,000.00. Three years ago we got over $8,000.00 back-so its worth it.

Some ways to ensure a rebate rather then having to pay in:

- If you are married, Claim either "0" or "1" on your dependents and also change it to "Married but Claiming at the single rate". Yes your checks may be smaller, but your return will be bigger.
- If you are single, Claim "0" on your dependents, and depending on your salary you may want to take an additional 2% out for taxes.

I now these options will take money out of each check; but you can look at it this way: if you do these, you will not have to pay in and most likely you will get a refund.

Hope these help; There are many ways of doing your taxes, Just make sure what your doing is right for you.
