(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So today i got pulled over and got a citation for running a red light. The charge was " Obedience to Traffic Control Devices" I turn 17 in February so i have to go to a hearing in November. But could i lose my license from this? I only have my provisional license and ive only had it a week. Lol iknow it sounds bad but the cop was a dick and i know everyone says this but the light wasn't red when i passed it, it turned yellow when it was far too late for me too stop. But yeah, just a question.

No you can't lose your license. Insurance rates may go up if you fail to go to traffic school, but just handle the traffic school and pay your $400 fine and you'll be good. I got my first ticket a month after I got my license, an accident a month later, still have my license Smile

No. The judge probably won't revoke it however you will probably have points added to your license and you might have to take a class. Oh yeah and your insurance is probably going up...Go to court though, most likely the judge will decrease your fine, not suspend your license, and may let keep all of your points since you're only 17. Hope you get a nice judge.

Sorry to say Mr. Munger, but the average fine in Rhode Island for running a red light is only $50, plus the fees and fines associated with the court and possibly traffic school. You're looking at about $400. I know it sucks, but you never know the clerk might waive the fines?

no dude you're fine. You just pay a fine and do traffic school and you'll be alright.

I don't no much of the rules and regulations that cycle around the USA's system but in the UK you shouldn't even be driving with a provisional license unless your are with a qualified driver over the age of 21.
The laws must be different in the US I guess...

fuk that, yellow means speed up Winky Winky and fuk that cop too. And you could try and make a case but for the most part, it's not looking good for you, it never does.
