This cat can be perceived as rotating in either direction. With practice, you can make it switch at will!So practice.

My technique to make it switch:
1. look at the cat
2. look up without moving your head
3. you should see part of the rotating cat
4. then you can pretty much switch it from there

Haha that's awesome. It worked for me! Although I have to look left without moving my head for it to move right and look right for it to move left.

This isn't an optical illusion, it's a mere gif, and the gif makes the cat spin different directions at different times. People who it didn't work for, just watch the cat longer, and it will switch directions, not because of your eyes, but just because it's a gif.
