Yeah I've seen every single one. It's just hype basically.
I had an extensive discussion about this with a catholic priest at one of the local churches in my city. He explained the whole thing to me.
Back in the bible days and all through history basically, people who had mental illnesses like psychosis or manic depression or bi-polar disorder, were labeled as "possessed" by "demons". These are very general terms. A "demon" could be a bad memory.
He explained to me that exorcisms were carried out as a means of psychiatry and that it's only due to bad historic accounts and nut jobs who took those bad accounts way too seriously, that we arrived at the idea of what exorcisms are today.
Keep in mind though, DWELLINGS were regularly exorcised to ward off evil spirits. This, however, is not the same thing.
