(a+b) (a-b) = b(a-b)
no that doesn't work because your adding a or 1 to the b thats already there it only works because your earasing everything by using the multiplicative property of 0 theoretically you could use any number as b and it would equal 0 on both sides but when you break it down its not equal it looks like this
2 X 0 = 1 X 0 and everything times 0 equals 0

btw here is proof 1 doesn't equal 2 2-1=1 1-1=0
1 isn't equal to 0
