Now, I am looking for honest opinions, don't be a dickwad and call me a dumbass or some shit. Is this an OK score. I don't plan on going to a BIG SCHOOL, I'm staying local, maybe GEORGIA SOUTHERN (great school), Coastal Georgia, Georgia State, Valdosta State, etc. Some school along these lines.
I don't want to be a genius, I don't want to go to a big school, I don't want to have straight A's. I'm a normal kid, who just wants to have a good time, and get somewhere in life.

Now, do you think, most schools, around the same size I said above, will accept me.
Now, I've searched on all the school sites, saw their requirement SAT scores, and for most of them I would be good.
I'm just asking you, the NGU community, do you personally think it's good. I'm just an average joe. Not einstein

If I got that score, my mom would kill me(b/c I'm Asian and Asians are supposed to be smart). Damn, why do I have to be Asian?

Minimum requirement for a typical Asian:
- At least 1700 on the SAT
- Get into a good school like a UC
- ALMOST straight A's

If you don't live in California, UC stands for University of California

ex.
UCLA(40% ASIAN!!!)
UC Berkeley(3rd best school worldwide, 2nd best nationwide)

Here is the think though, my family has a long art history so if i plan to go to an art school such as Academy of Art Institute, Art Center, or Otis, they wouldn't mind.(art schools don't really check your SAT scores)

I've looked into this:

Although, if you are going to like a school you named (I think they're like Division 2 universities?), and you have a solid GPA (3.5+), you should be OK. You may not get the big scholarship money or any scholarship money, but getting in should not be a problem. Also, you've shown on this forum to me that you are actually pretty smart (if that on a forum counts for anything lol). You should be fine. Just don't stress too much about a lower SAT score, it's really not as big a deal as people make it out to be, only for the n33bs looking to get into top universities.

I had a 3.7 as of last year, should be about the same after this year, and next year hopefully.
Thanks
Actually, DIV III

Unless they are the semi-private small schools that only take smarter people, then you should be fine. I might recommend a bigger school compared to a smaller school though. I don't mean in terms of like "smarter people" just population. The bigger schools that are D2/3 are just looking for money lol. Also another alternative is a community college for your first 2 years. If you are low on money, then I'd suggest getting your required classes there as it is cheaper. Only If you are going to commute

See, at the MAX I want to go to a school the size of Georgia Southern. It's a pretty descent size school, not UGA or FLA, obviously, but it's a big school for being 'local'. About 7000 students. Hour drive or so from home.
Coastal Georgia College, my community, 5 minutes away, was my 'first' choice.
It's a 4 year college as of this year, it's 'ok' size for being an ex-community college.
Money isn't the issue (not to brag at all). I have the financial aid covered through the air-force (parents). I'm not worried about that, nor are they. It's just a matter of choice of how far I want to be from home.

not disrespecting southerners but for someone from Georgia thats a damn good score, for all the people ive met in the south they are dumb as rocks. Im aiming around a 1400-1500 got my eye on Wells, Ny. UNH. Daniel Webster or Castleton.

It 100% depends on your college of choice. Some colleges don't give a crap about SATs because they realize that some people arnt good test takers. Some colleges dont care about GPAs and care all about the SAT/ACT grade. Call the college and ask them, thats what I would do at least.

Not taking the fact that the south is lower in education into consideration, thats not a good sat grade (just being honest =]). But also some (actually most) colleges dont care about the first writing part so if you did bad in that section then it may work out to your benefit.
Call the colleges of your choice and ask them, or just look at around their websites if they got good sites to see if your on the right track.
