It is just like MS office, opens anything, saves as anything (ex. .doc), and it's FREE! Seriously, this program is awesome, it lets you customize EVERYTHING. I really mean EVERYTHING. You can customize what any combination of keys do; example command/control+f can save the document. You can also customize the background color to ANY color you want.
Seriously, I have never fallen in love with any other program, that is why I am sharing this with you
It works on any kind of computer, mac, windows, linux etc.
Anyways I hope you enjoy this nice bit of software

the computers at my school use this. IMO Microsoft Word is way better than Open Office.

Started in 1995 your late to the party
Been using it for like 4 years now maybe more.

It a good program which does all what Microsoft offices does and for free. One major plus side it open source which means you can mod it if you wish. High number of add ons too.

One down side it lacks the super nice GUI (right word am unsure) or UI which Microsoft office has.

It a challenger against word and one of the best bits of software you can get.
Also you can run a mini version on your USB if you wish

Quite a high rate of use in the EU.

It brings members to the site duh!
