Same here, and every time the U.S saves the Europeans haha. anyone who says that the United States didn't win the world wars,doesn't know anything about history. and we trash on you guys because you are different from us and in the United States being different is a bad thing.

xISx may be right on saying that we entered WW1 for prestige.
But the reason we entered WW2 was totally different.
We wanted to enter the war earlier but the country was being isolationist because we were in a depression, remembered the horror of WW1, and saw the mistakes Western Europe made in the way they treated the Germans after WW1.
England could never have defeated the Germans without the arms supplies made by the US before our entry and additional troop support after our entry.
The American public would not support entry until pearl harbor, but we had been gearing for it since Germany's invasion of Poland.
Russia's efforts in Eastern Europe, especially Stalingrad, did much to stop the German war machine, but it is very unlikely that Germany could have been forced to surrender without America's entry. Even then it took nearly 2 years to defeat them.

The German high command and solders were really quite amazing.
Without Hitler's involvement, they may have been able to defeat all of Europe.
One could argue that they were the greatest military force in history.
It certainly took an incredible combined effort to defeat them, even with an ass like Hitler taking over command and killing off half their military leadership.

I think it's the same. A few closed minded people ruin it for everyone. My dad was in the Military and I grew up in Germany. I played soccer in Germany, England, Spain, France, and Italy. Some of the locals were nice and some not so. Don't let some American's ruin it for all.

I have learned what happened. We needed Russia more than you guys cos they had millions and millions of men. The Germans didn't want Russia to join the war, but new if they could take over the capital then they would eventually conquer Russia. America came in for the credit when the war was almost over. They came 3 years late. You learn on what happened.
