Who is it going to be?

In terms of statistics, China has the biggest military out of all of those.

The Chinese Army is the 2nd biggest employer in the world, behind Indian railways. However the USA spends 50% of the worlds military costs. So the USA is the most technologically advanged but the Chinese army is biggest in size. Overall the USA has the best military.

P.S. UK can be removed from that list now since the torries have decided reduce to our military to about one rowing boat =D in an attempt to lower the budget defecit.

China has The largest standing army and their military spending as a percentage of GDP is rising alarmingly fast.What are they planning for over the next 50 yrs?

The UK still has the largest Navy in the world and some of the most highly trained specialized forces.

Israel is not listed but should rank as one of the most effecient and experienced military powers. They have to be ranked above Brazil.

Japan has the smallest but a very effective navy and air force. The only one listed ( except Brazil ) without Nukes but they could build them quickely if they wanted to.

Russia is still one of top military powers. They have developed many weapons systems and are one of the largest arms dealers and military trainers in the world.

France and Germany's military power seems to have become more concerned with sales than projection since the end of the cold war.

The US is the Best and Top military power in the world.
2nd largest standing armed forces, best technology, and most projection.
Why?
They have the 3rd largest population.
They have no bordering enemies.
They've had historical reasons for developing the largest military/industrial base.
They have the largest GDP to spend as a percentage on their military.
They are not the bravest.
They are the best equipped, trained, and expierenced.

By default, they have become the extension of the Western world's military's influence around the world because they can best afford to.

I would say ours, the uk, but were not because that David camron twat! So I would probably say the u.s or china ,but to be honest if there was a war it wouldn't matter about armys, as it would all be nuclear and the world would probably get knocked off of it's axis

There have been over 30 "wars" since WW2, most lesser regional conflicts. Nuclear powers have been involved in many of them, although none directly against each other except Pakistan and India on a limited scale.
M.A.D. Is the reason that it hasn't and won't happen.
The main risk of nuclear war now is a terrorist nuclear strike and how the attacked country responds.
Regardless of the response, it is highly unlikely that any 3rd party is going to get involved because of Mutually Assured Destruction.
That is why conventional strength is growing more important. Nobody can risk pushing the button.

By the way, that Kentucky loss bit the big one! Last week too!!

Don't kid yourself into thinking Russia is a third rate power.They are not and Putin is no pussy.

Here's what I think In terms of skills and best trained I would say Israel but resources wise I would go for USA
