Gamestop Customer Killed After Walking in on Robbery
Written by SchaffinOSX (Retired Staff)
Writer's Note: Throughout my time in world of gaming news, I've heard plenty of similar stories to this one. Gaming has become very important to some people, to the extent that real, human lives have been lost. I'm a (clearly) a supporter of gaming, but when incidents like this are constantly increasing in frequency, there is a problem at hand. Is this what humanity is coming to?
Adrian Snow, age 40, was walking into a Gamestop in Conyers, Georgia. Upon entering the store, he didn't know that a robbery was taking place inside. He was immediately confronted by two armed individuals, who tried to restrain him by tying him up. Snow resisted, and, in the panic of the two suspects, was shot.
The two suspects, Giovannte Maddox, age 27 of Atlanta and Demarkus Williams, age 25 of Atlanta had been gathering money and Xbox game consoles, but, upon shooting Snow, fled the store without taking any of the merchandise or money. The two suspects were aprehended shortly after, and Snow, badly wounded, was taken to the hospital. Not long after having surgery, something went wrong, and Adrian Snow was declared dead.
Despite the tragic situation, Chief Wilson said that Adrian Snow's life, although sadly lost, may not have been lost in vain: "Once the shots were fired our two suspects panicked and left the location, and there's a very strong possibility that he did in fact save the clerks life."
These two suspects may have been connected to other robberies that have been taking place at Gamestops, which, according to authorities, were organized in a similar manner to that of this one.
