And just about any other band that sounds like those above, those are all closer to hard rock/hardcore than metal.

With that in mind, suggest bands to people who want to start listening to metal, discuss your favourite bands, etc.

yeah ur right what u said about the bands above they are technically not metal but i think Disturbed is still pretty good and i like Megadeth, Scar Symmetry, O.M.T and Soulsanctuary

Im a fan of all metal, looking forward to seeing Iron Maiden again and hoping Opeth, Children of Bodom come back out to Australia soon. My fav metalcore band atm is Parkway Drive

and yeah not really into the Nu Metal either apart from the odd Limp Bizkit song or two
