Well last year David Reeves retired from his joint position as deputy president of SCE worldwide and president of SCEE two positions i am not sure what they cover exactly. The current Capcom coo seem to think that the rising cost of the development cost he may have may simple force employers to join with Microsoft within the next 15 years.. But in 15 years time will both companies still be producing there 'Nextgen consoles'? with tough competition between the two consoles already can we not see one dropping out of the race to be the best as they have fallen behind?

If these two consoles and services combined would we see a great improvement in what they provided or would the one horse race be a lost cause and instead of the merger succeeding would we see great mistakes? As it is seen Microsoft provided a better online service so to speak yet Sony prefer to fill there consoles with all the technology they can so surely if they combined we could finally get the best of both worlds?

Whether it's PS3, or Xbox 360 or even Wii, they cost millions - maybe not billions, but absolutely millions. You don't know when to put that stake in the ground of technology and move on. You know, say 'that's enough'.Eventually, it may just become so expensive to develop that Microsoft and Sony say, 'Okay, let's get together.' I'd say it's between 10 and 15 years away. That's how long I think it will take. I don't think it will be the next console cycle, but probably the next cycle after that, where you might have something platform-agnostic"

So what do you think to what he has said? baring in mind he had 15 years experience within Sony so he knows their workings and the already high development cost?

I could see the advantages of the two services combining, i mean i know a few people on PS3 who would love the services XBOX get with there live.. But also people who have an XBOX but see the PS3 as a superior console. But i think both consoles have different things to offer both bad and good. Whats not to like about a combined services even if it is due to the development costs.
