Post: Has anybody done GCSE I.T?

Basicly I wanna become a programmer when im older, but I dunno if GCSE I.T has what I think it has in it...

Could somebody please explain what subjects we do in it (like website design,hardware and maybe programming?)

I do it, in my school you do a Board Set Assignment, where you have to follow everything completely and make a website, database and spreadsheet for Hickley Travels (may vary for you). Then you do a project of your choice where you have to make a database for a new company that you are starting up and in the database you make things like forms, reports, queries etc.

As of yet, I haven't done any programming and I don't think I will.

Dit it last year too all it is, is making powerpoints, spreadsheets and taking screenshots from what i hear your looking for Computing when you get to college i think thats to do with programming but gcse it is crap realy got like 6 gcse's in it.

Yea im doing this, about were doing a gaming company and we need to do databases and writing e-mails to teachers etc and shit! Like saftey for our employees

Depends on what school you're in, I've done the course but without programming.

I do OCR ICT. You get set three different units, these vary from creating a powerpoint project to creating a website in dreamweaver. Applied ICT (A level) is basically the same aswell.

you don't program at GCSE, but if you want to take computing at A-Level, you'll pretty much need ICT and Maths.
