Harsh weather has caused massive road closures across the Midwest, caused the cancellation of all inbound and outbound flights in a number of Midwestern airports and has collapsed the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn.

The panels of the Metrodome roof started giving way around 5 a.m. and deflated after the storm, which dumped more than 17 inches of snow on the city.

A Sunday NFL football game between the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings had already been pushed to Monday, as the Giants were stranded in Kansas City, unable to reach Minneapolis after the Twin Cities' airport was closed.

Terwilliger says this has only happened three other times in the Metrodome history, the last being on April 14, 1983.

NFL Spokesperson says that the stadium will not be avalible on Monday, nor Tuesday. NFL officials are considering moving the next few games to TFC Bank Stadium.

I thought that this is hilarious. the fact that a stadium can't hold 17 inches of snow on its roof seems to me like it has a slight design flaw Happy

Looks a bit more than 17 inches though....

Lol yeah, but it's not really a strong solid roof, it's inflated dude, it's basically a giant balloon lol. I just about died laughing seeing it, I've been giving shit to my friends about their vikes this year, and this is just great.

I was supposed to go to this game too:( I live right near the dome... That was one hell of a snowstorm by the way. At least 5-10 foot drifts.

Wow, I thought a bouncy house roof could easily withstand a snowstorm. I'm sure whoever designed this is surprised.
