I personally feel it was wrong for a lot of the information that the site has to be released. If it were old document it wouldn't be as controversial but some of these recent news topics are too much for the public to handle and they also make America look bad (helicopter videos, if you know what I mean).

Well I'm in the military so my opinion might be biased but I think the Army Private that leaked the files should be tried for treason and given the death sentence. Regardless of whether the things that happened were wrong (helicopter video), the files were classified for a reason. Shit like that happens in war and if the public is so eager to see it and want to understand it then maybe they should sign their lives away and go to the fight. Now you have critics and whatever else getting their panties in a bunch but all they see is people dying, they cant really begin to understand it. And thats why stuff like that is kept out of the eyes of the public.

In regards to all the other stuff that could have been leaked and what other countries might think of it. I really dont think it will cause many problems between countries. Every countries governments have skeletons in their closets. Things cant alway go smoothly, sometimes dirty work needs to be done and I'm sure the United States isn't the only country that has those types of operations going on.

I really haven't followed much on it because nothing in the files can surprise me. I have my secret clearance and if i wanted to see that stuff i would just go sit in the vault and read about it. But everyone should realize, some things are better left in the dark cause they are probably there for a good reason.

IMHO something like this has needed to happen for a while.

The US government(and others too obvi.) has been getting more and more corrupt and I *hope* this will stop them in their tracks, or at least slow them down.

Whether you like it or not, the US government and nearly all of it's politicians are hypocritical, full of themselves morons that only look out for themselves and then the highest bidder.

P.S. Yeah this is directed at the US and I know that the files were leaked for others too, but the US seem most pissed about it lol

I agree with what wikileaks does but only too a certain degree. I can understand where Lick is coming from, about it being war, split second decisions and so on. At the same time though, things need to be leaked out that wikileaks does. It shows how corrupt this and that country is. How can a government expect it's country to get along when they themselves can't even do it? This brings out shit like that, making them them more on their toes to what goes on and who can access it, hopefully. I do think that certain things should be kept secret though for the reasons Lick said.
