The Xbox is a sixth-generation video game console manufactured by Microsoft. It was released on November 15, 2001 in North America, February 22, 2002 in Japan, and March 14, 2002 in Australia and Europe and is the predecessor to the Xbox 360. It was Microsoft's first foray into the gaming console market, and competed with Sony's PlayStation 2, Sega's Dreamcast, and Nintendo's GameCube. The integrated Xbox Live service allowed players to compete online.[4]
The Xbox was discontinued in late 2006, although the final Xbox game, Madden NFL 09 was released in August 2008. Support for out-of-warranty Xbox consoles was discontinued on March 2, 2009; any in-warranty repair now needed will not be undertaken and faulty consoles will be replaced with an Xbox 360 instead. Xbox Live support was discontinued on April 15, 2010.[4]
In 2009, IGN named the Xbox the 11th best video game console of all time, out of 25 other consoles.[5

The Xbox 360 video game console is subject to a number of technical problems and failures that can render it unusable. Many of the issues can be identified by a series of red lights flashing on the face of the console; the three flashing red lights (nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death" or "RRoD")[1] being the most infamous. There are also other issues that arise with the console, such as discs becoming scratched in the drive and "bricking" of consoles due to dashboard updates. Since its release on November 22, 2005, many articles have appeared in the media portraying the Xbox 360's failure rates,[2][3][4] with the latest estimate by warranty provider SquareTrade to be 23.7%,[5] and the highest estimate being 54.2% by a Game Informer survey

The PlayStation 3 was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan,[12] November 17, 2006 in North America,[13] March 16, 2007 in the United Kingdom and Ireland and March 23, 2007 in mainland Europe and Oceania.[14][15] Two stock-keeping units were available at launch: a basic model with a 20 GB hard disk drive and a premium model with a 60 GB hard drive and several additional features[16] (the 20 GB model was not released in Europe or Oceania).[17] Since then, several revisions have been made to the console's available models, most notably with the release of a new slim model in September 2009 to coincide with rebranding of the console and its logo.[18][19]

yes cuz u like the xbox but i think the ps3 is better i don't see why xbox should be better as it breaks it has the same games but u have to pay 4 online that sucks i will never pay 4 playing online and if sony would start letting people pay for the psn i will stop playing online nd the ps3 is also better than the xbox cuz it has trophies hehe Trophies RULE achievements SUCK
