What is Lucid Dreaming?

Definition: "A lucid dream is a dream in which the sleeper is aware that she or he is dreaming. When the dreamer is lucid, she or he can actively participate in and often manipulate the imaginary experiences in the dream environment." - You must login or register to view this content.

Ever wondered what it would be like if you could control your own dream, do whatever you like, fly, kick whoevers face in, do challenge lobbies :carling:, shag anyone (Cheryl Cole is my first choice! Winky Winky), go into any game, be any game character, do literally ANYTHING?

With practice, upon having a lucid dream, you can dream about anything you want! There are infact people who can go to bed at night and enter their own world.

So then, how do you start?

From starting to know how to lucid dream, there is no way to know how long it will be untill you start full-on lucid dreaming. Some people can lucid dream from 3 nights of hearing about it, and for others can take it months.

There are many things you need to learn about lucid dreaming, such as the states of your sleep (such as REM or Rapid Eye Movement), the techniques, reality checks and the possible dangers of lucid dreaming (note that you should not be put off by these!).

I will not go into the details of these but if you would like more information, I have a very good ebook, that goes into everything in 100x more detail. Just PM me and don't give up! Every human being is capable of lucid dreaming. Also, make sure you see Inception at some point in your life! Winky Winky

I just thought I'd share this as I'd like to make some NGUers as excited as I am about lucid dreaming. Completely written by me, thanks for reading.

Users claim to experience lucid sensations where they have "out of body" experiences. Some users report insights into the way the mind works, and some experience permanent shifts in their life perspective. LSD also allows users to view their life from an introspected point of view. From this point of view, a user can travel back in time to a specific moment or memory and relive that moment again. Some users report using introspection to resolve unresolved or negative feelings towards an individual or incident that occurred in the past.
