2. Fond of controversy; disputatious.

None of your stuff really do that. I don't think words do it, acts do. Such as the example given in the definition, the death penalty. People are for and against it.

Just typing it feels controversial.
There is no other words use that is as controversial, including the level of its use by the black community.

Its a little more controversial than using I vs Me !!!
