Wins for Star Valley came over Cokeville, 55-21; Evanston 69-10; Idaho Falls, 68-6; Lander 67-12; Riverton, 54-8 and Shelley, 67-9. Star Valley wrestlers travel to Worland this week. From the mats to the hardwood, on Thursday, Dec. 9, the Braves survived the Bear Lake Bears, 47-46, on their court in Montpelier with a stolen inbound pass and a layup with just 12 seconds left. Senior forward, Josh Hunsaker, led the way with 25 points, six rebounds and seven blocks unofficially. Senior center, Clint Rich, had a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with six points. The win moved the team to 4-1 on the season. Star Valley travels to the Flaming Gorge Classic in Green River this weekend where they will face Cheyenne East, Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Gillette before the holidays.

Friday evening, Dec. 10, the Lady Braves fell behind due to just three points in the third quarter in Montpelier and eventually fell to homestanding Bear Lake, 46-39. Senior guard, Marci Bowers, led the team with 13 points including a pair of three-point baskets. Sophomore forward, Lexi Erickson also had 12 points in the effort. The ladies also have a trio of games at the Flaming Gorge tournament. They will play Cheyenne Central, Steamboat Springs and Gillette.

Both the Braves and Lady Braves will host Jackson on December 28 and Bear Lake on December 29 in the first home contests of the season. SVHS is expected to unveil the Lady Braves 2010 4A Track and Field Championship Banner on the evening of the Jackson games.
