(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi guys, I need a little help with something please, I work for a company called Balfour Beatty Rail.

You must login or register to view this content.

We currently have a workforce of about 450-475 employees. At the minute we are going through pay talks and they are offering us a measly £400 per year rise which we have all rejected. There has been rumours going around that we are going to be taken over by an American firm called "Progress Rail"

Obviously up until now they have only been rumours BUT today at work someone outside of the company who is very high up in the rail industry confirmed it to me. The lads I work with are all worried as the management have threatened a reduction in the work force etc etc.

I have searched around the internet but can not find anything that relates to my problem. There is no sign of a "take over" or anything like that. I do not know where to look to be honest.

Any info you can find on this would be much appreciated please:y:

ThanksSmile

couldnt find anything over a take over only found stuff like this:

Redhill-based Balfour Beatty Rail has won a five-year contract to carry out track renewal work in partnership with London Underground.
The total value of the work to be delivered by the partnership is £220m, of which around half will be Balfour Beatty's share.
The works will include the replacement of ballasted track, points and crossings, including all ancillary signalling and drainage works on the Tube network.
Ian Tyler, chief executive of Balfour Beatty, said: "We are very pleased to be part of such a crucial project, working in partnership with London Underground to deliver a world-class transport system for London."
Works are expected to start in the spring and there is an option to extend the contract for a further two years after the initial five-year period.
The business works on all types of rail operation worldwide including high-speed passenger, freight and mixed traffic routes, dense commuter networks, metros and light rail.

Sorry :/

I have seen that one, I have seen a few more "We have won millions in contracts" aswell. I think they are playing with us, stalling us before we break up lol.
