What makes a good thread?
Its come to my attention that many people seem to get depressed when their thread falls under, disappears or never gets a response, so i wanted to try and tackle what gives a thread its longevity, its reputation, or it popularity. This is not exactly a thread containing a step by step or bulleted outline of how to post a good thread, but more along the lines of some key things that can make a thread have one or more of those three things.

For starters: make it engaging
It has to be engaging, the users here to say the least are very meticulous about the threads that they participate in. Needless to say on many forums user bases like a thread that allows them to put their own input in, allows them to express themselves in a way that puts their personality out in the open. For example lets look at all the threads that emerge during the holiday seasons, whether it be thanksgiving with all of its what are you thankful for threads, Christmas with its whats on your Christmas list, or what did you get threads, or New Years with its what are your New Years resolutions threads. All three of which allow users to express themselves and their likes and or desires. So next time you make a thread attempt to make it more community engaging.

Next: Add humor
Being in a community with a bunch of people who pride themselves on their Call of duty rank, or the post count, or even their Vbucks you can see that things in real life aren't taken seriously very often, therefore humor is the Achilles heel. How do we add humor you ask? Well this thread isn't the best example thats for sure, but lets just look at the general section, not everything there is seriously, actually half of it is along the lines of "Duz joo smoke pot" or "Check this hot bitch out", but thats the extremes, all you have to do is lighten up, if you want to make a serious thread, it doesn't have to be marching to the sound of a drum, make it light on the eyes when reading and fun, being engaging can definitely help this problem.

After that: Mysticism
You might be reading this one right now and be thinking, what is this kid smoking, mysticism?? yeah right! But actually it is true, if you create a thread in which after a user posts they are constantly checking the thread to find out what people are going to respond like then you are successfully creating a thread with mysticism.

Finally: Member popularity appeal
It might not sound true but it is, if you have a thread where a bunch of new users or New Fags as many of you call them are posting then some of our veteran members or Old Fags as you guys call them might night find the appeal in posting. Like any community on the internet its a political rampage, people only jump in on threads that they think they will get some sort of feedback on, if it increases their reputable nature with the community then its a bonus. So try and get some members known throughout the community to post first in your threads that will indicate to the whole community that this thread is worth your time.

See but this wouldn't be an iTerminate original thread if I didnt ask for your feedback as well, many communities are still expanding and being a pretty large community we have our own way of coming about the idea of a forum, so tell me what do you think makes a thread have longevity, reputation and or popularity.

Step 2. yuo hav to get ethrnt and unplg it the second a game starts

Step 3. Prestege in prcess and now you have done the gltch

regardless of grammar, I believe that is a given with a thread. This is just pertaining to content.

Crumpets and tea?
What draws me to a thread is most likely the title.
For example if you give your thread a boring dull title theres a good chance i'm not going to click on it however if I see somthing that provides at least some sort of interest I'll post there.

Also I think it depends a lot on who exactly posts the thread too. In my opinion more people will visit a thread posted by someone well known rather than the odd random.

Many of the most popular threads ( non glitch/hack) are something controversial.
Something that people have strong opinions on and will keep replying to counter another's argument.
Some of these are pointless ( like wasn't Hitler a great guy) but they get a surprising amount of responses.
Originality is the thing to keep in mind.

What do you all consider a good response rate on a thread?
10 percent of views? or more , or the total number of responses? not many get past 100 replies, unless it is something that people keep coming back to.

I believe any thread that gets past 50 replies is a successful thread. If it gets past 100 then it is exemplary at the least

Not a bad thread, but I posted this 1st which is now in Newfie's sticky thread in Forum help, and NextGenTactics posted this as well like 2 weeks after mine in General Discussion, and now this one here.
