I Saw on youtube people recording in hd while playing on standard tv, but they were all with xbox 360s.

Is there a way to record in hd and play on a standard definition tv for ps3(with hdpvr)?

No there isn't a way but most of those guys probably mess around with the rendering settings to make it look HD, and they probably use a dazzle.

There is no way of recording with a HD pvr without a HDtv, sorry.
